About me.
Kyle Blain Art
A wee bit about me…
I’m Kyle Blain, a painter from Clackmannanshire, Scotland, currently in my 4th year at the Glasgow School of Art, specialising in Painting and Printmaking. My work explores themes of music, identity, working-class life, and pop culture, using expressive yet grounded brushwork to create pieces that feel both intimate and relatable.
From a young age, I was drawn to the creative process, and during my later years in secondary school, I found success across Art, Music, Photography, and Graphic Design which set the foundation for my formal studies in Fine Art. Alongside my academic journey, I run my own business, Kyle Blain Art, where I regularly complete commissioned work and manage an online presence through my website and social media.
Over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to exhibit my work widely and connect with different audiences. My exhibitions include:
Solo Exhibitions:
First Solo Show, Clackmannan Town Hall, April 2023
Sterling Mills, Tillicoultry, May 2024
Loud & Clear, Leith, Edinburgh, November 2024 — ongoing
Group Exhibitions:
The Holy Art Gallery, London & Athens, January 2024
In addition to exhibitions, I’ve contributed to my local community through my school outreach work across Clackmannanshire, bringing inclusive art workshops to children and encouraging creativity in schools. My efforts were formally recognised by the Scottish Parliament in 2024 for my contributions to art and education in the region.
A project particularly close to my heart was donating a painting in memory of my grandad to Forth Valley Royal Hospital — a gesture aimed at giving back to the community and honouring my family’s story through my practice.
I’m active on social media @kyleblain_art, where I share my process with my followers, with several videos reaching audiences in the hundreds of thousands. Balancing these achievements with student life, I remain driven by a passion for art accessibility, community, and self-expression.
Thank you for your continued support.
