Common People – My First Solo Exhibition in Glasgow
I’m super excited to share that I’ll be hosting my first ever solo exhibition in Glasgow later this month!
Over my last year at GSA and since graduating, my practice has focused on telling the stories of working-class life in Clackmannanshire, the part of central Scotland where I grew up. Drawing on old family photographs, I’ve been painting everyday, candid moments like Sitting in a living room with a gran, standing in the garden on a sunny afternoon and giving them the same weight and attention usually reserved for more formal portraiture.
This ongoing project, Common People, captures nostalgia, humour, and the quiet strength of ordinary life. Using mainly household emulsion, alongside acrylic and spray paint, the series explores class, identity, and belonging while celebrating the overlooked details of community and family.
Come along!
